With unique financing tools such as loans and loan guarantees\, combined with interagency partnerships\, OSC works to complement the innovative power of the private sector with the modern industrial strategy that makes strategic public investments in America’s workforce\, and in key industry sectors and supply chains. \n\n\n\nHear from Dr. Rathje about OSC’s scope of work and intent; the progress in the office’s plans to develop new financing tools aimed at supporting space technologies; the latest updates on OSC’s calls to industry; and his vision for the future of the office\, the national security space ecosystem\, and the relationship between the government and the private investment community. \n\n\n\nPreviously\, Dr. Rathje served as director and co-founder of AFVentures\, the Department of the Air Force’s commercial investment arm under AFWERX. In that role\, he managed $1.8 billion of combined government funding and private capital for scaling early- to mid-stage technology ventures to support Air Force operations. Dr. Rathje holds a doctorate degree of philosophy in strategy and policy from Stanford University\, as well as a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in aerospace engineering from MIT. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Jason Rathje currently serves as the Director of the Office of Strategic Capital in the U.S. Department of Defense.
